Program Coordinator

Position Summary

​

This is a permanent part-time position responsible for working with the Director in providing preventive social programming support and resources to enhance the well-being of Kneehill area individuals, families and communities.  The program coordinator will organize a variety of Kneehill Regional FCSS Program and where appropriate, support other programs Kneehill Regional FCSS administers.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Building relationships with a wide variety of individuals, groups and communities.

  • Client navigation support by assisting individuals in accessing and navigating various services and resources. 

  • Providing information and referral to community members and allied service agencies

  • Assist with the planning, organizing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating FCSS programs, services and special projects.

  • To cooperate, communicate, and collaborate with partnering municipalities, allied service agencies, community organizations and businesses operating within the community to deliver preventive social initiatives.

  • Assist with the administrative functions of the FCSS program including report writing, production of advertising and marketing materials, data entry, telephone and front counter reception, correspondence, meeting coordination, board package preparation, proposal writing, and other duties as directed by the Director

  • Serve as recording secretary as required

  • Provide general research support for FCSS and related programs as requested

  • Assist with compiling and preparing the annual FCSS stakeholder report in addition to other annual reports

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience with community engagement/development

  • Self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently while contributing positively to the team

  • Experience with program planning

  • Strong oral and written communication

  • The ability to relate effectively to people of diverse economic, social and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email and internet

  • Positive attitude

  • Solid conflict resolution and public relations skills

  • Patience and flexibility in an ever-changing environment

  • Training/education in human services and previous experience working in the human services field is an asset.

  • An understanding of preventive and social programming

  • Confidentiality

  • Accuracy and thoroughness

 

Requirements

  • Experience working with people of all ages

  • Criminal record vulnerable sector and Children’s Services Intervention checks

  • Applicants must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license and have access to a vehicle

  • Ability to carry display materials, equipment and set up for events/meetings

  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours of Monday – Friday 9:00 – 4:00

 

Reporting:

  • This position will report to the Kneehill Regional FCSS Director

 

Details:

  • $24.09 – $26.04 depending on education and experience

  • Permanent Part-time position – 27 hours a week (1404 hours/year)

  • Starting at three weeks vacation time
