🤝 Healthy Relationships Matter Support Is Available

At FCSS, we believe healthy relationships are built on respect, communication, trust, and boundaries. When relationships feel safe and supportive, they strengthen our emotional well-being and help our whole community thrive.

But we also recognize that not all relationships feel healthy and sometimes it can be difficult to identify when something isn’t right.

Abuse is not always physical. It can show up in many different ways, including emotional, verbal, financial, sexual, or psychological harm. Some warning signs of an unhealthy or abusive relationship may include:

• Feeling afraid of your partner’s reactions

• Being isolated from friends, family, or supports

• Constant criticism, humiliation, or put-downs

• Controlling behaviors (who you see, what you wear, how you spend money)

• Monitoring your phone, social media, or whereabouts

• Blaming you for their behavior

• Threats, intimidation, or physical harm

• Feeling like you are “walking on eggshells”

If a relationship leaves you feeling anxious, powerless, or unsafe, those feelings matter. Trust your instincts. Everyone deserves to feel respected and secure.

We also want to take time to recognize and give shout-outs to the incredible agencies, shelters, crisis lines, victim support services, counselors, and outreach workers who support individuals and families navigating difficult or dangerous situations. Your compassion, advocacy, and commitment provide safety and hope when it is needed most.

These organizations work tirelessly to:

• Provide confidential crisis support

• Offer safe shelter and safety planning

• Connect individuals with legal and financial resources

• Provide counseling and emotional support

• Walk alongside people as they rebuild and heal

At FCSS, we are here to help connect community members with trusted local and regional resources. If you are unsure where to start, reach out. You do not have to have all the answers we can help you explore options in a safe and confidential way.

Reaching out for support is not a weakness. It is an act of courage.

You are not alone. 💛
